Portland SEO Announces New Services To Accommodate AdWords Changes
Portland, Oregon based Portland SEO has announced some modifications to the way they will be handling SEO, as a result of the changes that Google has recently made to Adwords. An announcement was made in February 2016 that Google would no longer show ads on the sidebars on search results. The company states that in light of these changes, SEO is more important than ever.
“The ads that we’re used to seeing on the sidebar will now be shown at the top or bottom of the page,” states Augusto Beato with the SEO Portland services provider. “This means that we’ve had to reword our SEO services to ensure that our clients are getting what they want, which is more clicks to their sites.”
Google announced that it may show for ads, instead of the current three, above the search results for what the company refers to as highly commercial queries. The testing for these changes began in 2010, and have been changed and tweaked over the past six years. Google reports that those initiating searches have stated that they were seeing top only ads more frequently.
“A spokesperson for Google has confirmed that these changes are taking place,” Beato says. “This means that we have to get onboard and begin reevaluating how SEO is done in order for our clients to see the results that they want.”
Google stated that ads will not appear on the side bar of search results, but with two exceptions. Product listing ad boxes will show to the right or directly above the search results. Google also indicated that an additional fourth ad may show above the search results, but again, only for highly commercial searches.
The elimination of ads on the right side bar is set to impact all desktop searches around the world.
