SEO Lead Business
We’ve all seen those reviews that start off with “I hate to say this, but…” or “Not to be mean, but…” Those are usually never the stellar reviews for your services that you were expecting.
Buck up, bucko!
Bad reviews of your SEO lead or generating services aren’t the end of the world. In fact, they may not affect your business in the least. According to Forbes.com, “Customer complaints that are worded politely may actually increase the likelihood that a customer will purchase from your business, according to a new research study in the Journal of Consumer Research.”
Here are a few ways to help you overcome those bad reviews (and the anxiety you’re feeling if you’ve yet to experience them).
Try to avoid living in fear of negative reviews.
There is no sense in being afraid of reviews that don’t denote every amazing thing your SEO service has done for a customer. That’s just unrealistic (and a bit arrogant). Some people just aren’t going to like how you do business. Now, if that’s because they’re nitpicky or you made a boo boo, you may never know. But be willing to allow customers to leave reviews on your website and make them public. Don’t delete negative reviews. Potential customers may just respect you more for having the courage to display both positive and negative reviews.
Try to respond to all reviews.
Look, there’s no escaping negativity, but sulking about it definitely won’t help. Time to start “adulting” and addressing all comments in a polite manner. Someone who didn’t appreciate your SEO services may tell you so—in not-the-nicest way—but there’s no need to reciprocate that. Remember, you’re the business owner and should act with professionalism, regardless of how the customer acts. Per Forbes.com, “Always keep a polite and respectful tone when responding to reviews. Engage with customers diplomatically and try to resolve issues whenever you can.”
Show your “human” side.
One of the easiest things to do is connect with customers on social media, which is likely where most of your reviews will be located. Because social media websites are less formal, don’t be afraid to show that you are a human being, not just a faceless business. Display pictures of the staff (if you have them) or give people behind-the-scenes look at your company. Just let people see who you are and that there are actual people working in the background. Having this knowledge can help deter customers from being too harsh in their negative reviews.
